The architects behind Timekeepers Square, Carpino Place's sister development, are celebrating after the scheme was named Best Built Project in the multi-residential category at the Manchester Society of Architects Awards.

Buttress Architects took home the gong at Wednesday night's event, which celebrated the achievements of the finest architects at the 53Two venue space in the heart of Deansgate. The victory comes two years after Timekeepers Square won Best Unbuilt Project at the same awards.

Timekeepers Square was also a runner-up in this year's Building of the Year category.

The project, named due to its proximity to a number of clock faces, comprises 36 contemporary townhouses in a development located over the road from Carpino Place.

Ian Beaumont, director at Buttress Architects, said: "With Timekeepers Square, we sought to provide a sensitive, contemporary response to the conservation area's Georgian architecture. What results is a modern neighbourhood that compliments the surrounding heritage yet has its own distinct identity, and we're delighted that the scheme has been celebrated at this year's awards. Here's to Carpino Place being an award-winner in the future, too!"
